Ms. Wheelchair Utah is a nonprofit organization run entirely by volunteers. Donations from generous Utah businesses and individuals like you help us fund the annual pageant and make it special for all the contestants.
Volunteers work tirelessly year-round raising needed funds to create a fun, beautiful pageant for all the contestants. We want them to feel beautiful and pampered. Even though we get a lot of product donations to make this happen, we still need approximately $2,000 every year to craft a perfect event for all our participants.
Ms. Wheelchair Utah does charge an entrance fee from our contestants of $200. This fee is for commitment purposes only and it is often waived. It's expensive to be in a wheelchair! If a contestant can help us during one of our fundraisers or show us in another way that she is truly committed, then she's in! Our purpose is to show women in wheelchairs that they are beautiful, not make money off of them.
Ms. Wheelchair Utah is part of the larger Ms. Wheelchair America program and Utah is one of just a few states that pays their Titleholder's expensive application fee and airfare for her to compete at the national pageant. Each year, Ms. Wheelchair utah volunteers raise the national application fee of $1500 plus the almost $1,000 airfare for our reigning Titleholder and her companion.
